Mali Assn. of Culture and Hope
Transition period
Following the course, during any transitional period, the Association does it’s best to support and encourage the children. For example, if children want to return to school the Association pays any fees necessary. Any financial assistance given is strictly monitored by staff of the Association and is not open ended. Children who return to school may call in to the association for lunch, go back to school for the afternoon, and return after school to help with whatever is happening. They also talk to children newly into the workshop course, helping these younger ones to get a sense of what may be possible for themselves in the future.
One such lad Omar, recently came out of school for lunch. He walked straight up to Bassidy one of the main assistants and Association treasurer, to show him his school book, which Bassidy looked at as eagerly as any proud parent may have done.
